Blake Skinner

Blake Skinner is a highly demanded WAAPA (Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts) graduate from Perth, Western Australia.

He began his musical career playing the electric bass guitar and acoustic guitar in numerous bands around Perth from the ripe age of nine.

Blake graduated from Mazenod College in 2012 and was immediately accepted into WAAPA (Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts) to study contemporary music at seventeen years old; being one of the youngest ever students to be accepted into the world-renowned academy.

Specialising in electric bass guitar and vocals, Blake spent this time immersing him-self in a world of rich knowledge and great opportunity.
Blake performed his own original music, as well as performing in numerous Australian acts such as, Beside Lights (featuring Adrian Wilson from Australia’s Got Talent), Room For Reason (featuring Treat Jean Michel from X Factor, Australia) and Georgia Reed (from The Voice, Australia).
These acts gave him the chance to perform alongside some of Australia’s famous artists like ILLY, Josh Pyke, Lisa Mitchell and Samantha Jade.

Blake has performed sold out shows at famous Perth venues such as The Astor Theatre, The Crown Casino and The Ellington Jazz Club, and has also been interviewed and performed live on Perth's biggest radio stations, 92.9FM, 96FM, and 94.5FM.

He has performed at Perth's Telethon charity event, and has also ventured to the other side of the world to spread his music globally. In 2013, Blake flew to Cork (Ireland) and Norwich (England), and in 2015/16 he travelled Eastern, Western, Central and Northern Europe performing at local venues and busking in cities and towns.

Blake performs countless weddings, private functions and public performances at renowned Perth bars, restaurants and wineries. His cover music ranges from 50’s/60’s soul classics to the latest pop hits. His performances are soothing, tasteful and entertaining, as he continues to wow audiences with unique renditions of popular songs such as Amy Winehouse's, "Valerie" and Top Loader's, "Dancing In The Moonlight".

Blake is continually praised for his ability to accommodate for different crowds, diverse music repertoire and kind nature. His popular reputation is a result of his charisma, passion and dedication, which have become unique additions to his skills as a vocalist, guitarist, and song writer.

Blake was a delightful young man, came early and set up, and was very mindful of volume and musical style. I would definitely ask him to entertain again.

Paula Jones (Private Function) – March 2015

We were really pleased with Blake's performance, it made for a really memorable evening for everyone. A storm started just as he started playing and it was so atmospheric to have the live music being performed on the deck whilst the lightning lit the sky in front of us. Blake has a great voice, took requests on the night and was so friendly and personable; I couldn't have asked for more. Thanks for your help in arranging this for us.

Alex Smith (Private Function) – April 2016

Blake was fabulous! Very professional, but also just a really lovely guy, who was keen to make sure everything was just right for our event. Blake made sure that he understood the type of event and the feel we wanted to create with the result that the music was the perfect backdrop. The playlist was wonderful, Blake’s singing and playing fantastic. All in all, we couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Rosie O'Hare (Private Function) – June 2016

Both were fantastic! We were very happy with the choices. They fitted in really well and worked hard from the moment they arrived on both sessions. Very pleased with how they whole event event went. Thanks for your assistance and support.
