James Wilson
James Wilson is a professional musician with over 20 years’ experience in the Australian music industry. He has toured extensively throughout Australia and South East Asia and over this time he has shared the stage with many of this countries iconic Rock performers such as James Reyne (Australian Crawl), Ross Wilson (Daddy Cool/Mondo Rock), Ian Moss (Cold Chisel), Jon Stevens (Noiseworks) Joe Camilerri (Black Sorrows), Jessica Mauboy (Australian Idol) and Karise Eden (The Voice).
James’ versatility is one of his main strengths. A typical week could see him don a suit and tie for an audience of 5000 at a corporate function at Domain Stadium, fly to remote Western Australia to play for a 1000 man FIFO mining camp, return to Perth the following day to play live and DJ at a wedding and finish the working week with a 3 hour gig at the local pub.
His extraordinary stage set up combines musical excellence with astounding co-ordination as he manages to play a range of percussion and wind instruments, guitar and soaring vocals, all at the same time. There is one person on stage producing the sound of three. It truly needs to be seen to be believed.
James was absolutely fabulous! He fit our theme perfectly and really got the crowd involved! I had nothing but great feedback and would certainly recommend him!
Lauren Yates (Sporting Club) – August 2016James was absolutely amazing, I honestly believe that he made my entire wedding. He has so much charm and charisma and he is so so talented. Nothing on the night was a problem for him – our wedding was a very relaxed one and he was just perfect for it. The next day I received so many texts and phone calls about the night and I’m not exaggerating when I say every single one of them said that he was amazing!
Thank you so much for recommending him.
James was fantastic, we were extremely happy with him in every aspect. He was professional, presented/dressed perfectly for the event, his music was impressive both in terms of talent/skills and his selection of music (through reading the crowd and ambience). He even had people up and dancing at the end of the night which, for us, was an added bonus as we hadn’t really planned for that but had hoped it would happen.
PPES for Fortescue Legends Dinner – July 2014We had a spectacular wedding and we were so incredibly impressed with James! We will be using him over the next 12 months with other events we have. Everyone raved about how talented he was.
Emma Hay (Wedding) – March 2014James Wilson was awesome as expected!
Emma Danaher (Private Function) – May 2014Everything went great. James was perfect for the event and we had good feedback.
Jessica Bland (CMS Events) – June 2014James was a true professional as always. He rocked 195 and had everyone up and singing. I couldn’t walk from one side of the bar to the other without someone saying how good he was and asking me when the next one way. I had a Village Manager from Karntama come for the night, I’ve passed on the details as he would like to get James up there now too! Will definitely be trying to get him up more regular.
Amanda Goody (Morris Corp Camp 195) – June 2014It was great to work with someone professional like James who required very little assistance from our team as we were all very busy by the time we got to the venue! He was set up and ready to go before we had even arrived. James’ performance was really well suited to the event. He played great songs at a volume that added to the atmosphere without overwhelming conversation at the tables.
Tara Davy (UWA Function) – August 2014It all went well. Actually it was a great evening! Everyone loved it and I got numerous positive comments from guests about James Wilson. The staff really enjoyed the music too. A great night overall.
Anderson Dufty (Private Function) – September 2014James was absolutely fantastic! Our dance floor was full the entire night! We had so many comment on how great the music was. I would highly recommend him!
Kym Cusworth (Wedding) – November 2014Thank you, Thank you & Thank you! For all your handwork in the lead up to the event on Saturday night. Everything was wonderful and James was absolutely incredible so a huge thank you to him also. Could not of asked for anything better have had some great feedback and everyone loved his performances. Once again a huge thank you to both of you.
Stefanie Germano (Minesite Event) – November 2014Please pass my thanks onto James, he was awesome on stage and great to work with. Very professional and flexible!
Corporate Theatre Productions – February 2015We just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you so much for providing the music at our wedding reception. Everyone commented on what a great job you did both with your live sets and the music afterwards. You did very well to make sure there was great crowd participation. In particular we would also like to thank you for both of the songs you learnt for us. They were both great versions.
Rick Appleby (Wedding) – February 2015James was amazing, as we already knew he would be! He was above and beyond accommodating for any requests made of him throughout the night and our friends haven't stopped raving about our entertainment since the party finished. He will be highly recommended by us to anyone (and I have been passing on his details on the bridal pages) and he really made the night. Cannot fault him in any way, shape or form. From my husband: "awesome" So thankyou again. You were a pleasure to deal with and he was incredible.
Kylie Cox (Engagement Party) – February 2015James was excellent and the feedback was very positive. He was a pleasure to work with!
Coralie Palmer (Community Event) – January 2015James was fantastic. We had some surprises on the night that needed to be timed perfectly and he was great with working with the MC and helping out with that. I really enjoyed the music and all the guests had a fantastic night.
Alison Whitelaw (Wedding) – January 2015Everyone thought he was wonderful. I've been recommending him to friends. It all went so quick unfortunately. I didn't expect all the equipment that he had but he just got on with it as we were so busy. Please thank him again from us. He made it a wonderful party to remember.
Natalie Jolliffe (Private Function) – January 2015James was outstanding, we (as were our guests) were blown away with his effort on the night. As well as the interaction before the day, I managed to catch him at a show before the big day, and he took the time to chat to me and one of my groomsmen. We let him run the music, with only a few requests, and his selection of song choice was just what the mood needed. I cannot express how pleasing it was to have James play at our wedding reception, he went above and beyond he ensure we enjoyed our night, all the way to the very last song. Thankyou for all you help in making our day the event it was.
Tom Gardner (Wedding) – January 2015James was just amazing!!! We have been swamped since the wedding with guests saying how wonderful he was; quite a few have even said he was the best live act they have ever seen. We truly believe he played a big part in making our day so special. In terms of dealing with him, it was effortless – nothing was a problem. He learnt our ‘walking down the aisle’ song and every set (both live and DJ)) was exactly what we were after. Honestly, it couldn’t have gone better and we could not have been more pleased. Thank you for all your help in organising the booking; you were really easy to deal with and we really appreciate it.
Jessica Kuilboer (Wedding) – February 2015James was awesome!! And we have had heaps of great feedback. There was also a few people interested in his services for their own private events – he gave out a few of his cards. The other band that played enjoyed having him there to play while they weren’t playing. They both worked well together and there was a great atmosphere on the night.
Alana Rosenthal-Klein (Community Event) – March 2015Everyone commented on how great he was and everything went off without a hitch. I honestly couldn't have faulted anything and he was really easy to work with. We only bounced a couple of emails back but the last one from me was on the morning of the wedding and he took it all in his stride, no worries at all! Thanks so much for your help in booking him.
Nicole Ralph (Wedding) – February 2015We have nothing but absolutely fantastic feedback regarding James Wilson at our wedding. He was extremely professional, approachable, obliging and most importantly his acoustic sets were perfect! He was able to fulfil some of our special song requests which made our day perfect. We had many positive comments from our family and friends and have recommended him and your company to them.
Rebecca Robertshaw (Wedding) – February 2015Everyone loved him! He learned how to play a new song for our first dance. Extremely friendly!
Sarah Jones (Wedding) – April 2015James was absolutely fantastic. Couldn’t be happier. He is an amazing performer and a great person to deal with. We had power issues throughout the night with the generator running out of fuel, so James was the first person to assist me, by coming up with an alternative power solution for both his PA and our main PA system – without him we would have been lost! I had SO many people asking about James and how to book him etc... Thanks again Tiffany, really happy, and will definitely be booking him again.
Elle Mazza (Corporate Function) – May 2015James was absolutely brilliant and I could not fault him. He was professional, on time, and a hit with the crowd to the point he was probably the most talked about thing all night! I’ve recommended him to a fair few others... Thanks for your help in organising this.
Joanne O'Donnell (Wedding) – April 2015We had the most amazing wedding day! James was awesome, his live performances were better than what we ever could have asked for he ran our ceremony and our reception flawlessly! We were getting so many comments about him throughout the night asking where we found him and how good he was! He also MC'd for us so he kept the rowdy bunch we had invited under control! I really couldn't recommend James enough! I am so thankful for how he performed throughout the day there are no words to say just how good he was! Please tell him thank you again from both me and Mitch! He was great! Thanks for everything!
Laura Green (Wedding) – April 2015What else can I say about James other than that he was absolutely brilliant! Music was excellent, he was very professional and he kept spirits up even though most of our guests ran inside from the rain - we still stayed to listen to his music and tried to get as many people to brave the weather as possible. He was fantastic and I hope to be able to use him for another event in the future. I will recommend both him and your company to others as well.
Tiffany Wells (Wedding) – April 2015I just wanted to let you know James was a huge success last night. A lot of guests were commenting on how impressed they were with him and would love to see him at future events. Thanks for your help.
Ryan Silvester (Corporate Function) – May 2015Everything went amazing! And James was fantastic, everyone loved him. He played fantastic sets and the DJ sets were great as well. He made our day that extra special which was fantastic. Thank you as well to you for helping us organise him.
Kendell Ball (Wedding) – March 2015I really appreciated the communication of both you and James prior to the day with the potential for him having to cancel. Obviously everything worked out well for us in regards to that. Although I myself cannot really remember too much about the music (or a lot of other details as it was all so hectic) I did have so many people coming up to me saying how fantastic the music was and there was plenty of people on the dance floor so it sounds like it was a success.
Karen Cuneo (Wedding) – May 2015James was superb! He had everyone up dancing whether he was playing live or doing a bit of DJ'ing. It was a highlight for everyone! He set the mood for a fantastic evening and I would book him again when I have another event!
Heather Douglas - BBC (Wedding) – May 2015Everything went great. That was a new place for entertainers this year so it was a bit of trial and error for us as well, but James was a big help in being so flexible with everything.
Alana Rosenthal-Klein (Community Event) – August 2015I just wanted to say thank you for again providing such a great performer over the weekend. James Wilson was very well received and easy to work with. The crowd and staff loved his enthusiasm and obvious talent. Just wanted to add, the last few performers we have had through your company have been absolutely on the money and so easy to work with! Thank you for your hard work and great suggestions. Thanks again for another great event and I look forward to many more!
Alex Badenoch (Mine site) – September 2015James was excellent thanks. Ten out of ten.
Stephen Allen – September 2015James was brilliant on the night he performed for us in Solomon, We will be definitely looking forward to using him again in the future, He seems to be a big hit with the FMG management here on site so that’s a big help!
David – October 2015Thank you for referring James Wilson for our Afternoon Tea for HeartKids event on Saturday. James was amazing and we cannot recommend him enough! I would book James to come and sing in my back yard just for me! He has inspired my children and so many others. Simply incredible and so very talented. And such a very nice guy.
Shelley Ure – October 2015 James arrived well before time and quickly and discreetly set himself up while the awards presentation was in full swing. Right on cue he began playing and a lot of the guests were amazed that a live act had suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
His musical ability is incredible and the songs he chose to play for us were just perfect for our age group. Everyone at the event has raved about James and all really enjoyed his showmanship as well as his choice of music.
My only regret is, his grand finale was “ In the air tonight “ by Phil Collins, complete with a three minute Didgeredoo solo to top it off and I somehow missed it, I’ve seen the photos of the entire crowd dancing, but no me. Oh well I’ll just have to book him again. Please thank James on our behalf, and also thanks to you guys for all your professionalism in helping me to organise our event.
James was fantastic and I have had a lot of comments on how good he was. He is a lovely guy and his music amazing!
Kwinana Volunteer Christmas Function – December 2015I had SO MUCH great feedback about James. I was so pleased with his performance and he will definitely be our regular. Very happy with the night!
Natalie Sorrell (Corporate Function) – December 2015I’m pleased to report that James was a highlight of the event: extremely professional, personable and with an excellent song selection and performance pitched at exactly the right level for the occasion. I was very pleased with his performance and effect on the event.
Lee Battersby (Community Event) – December 2015James' performance was really well received. Our guests were blown away by his talent and we were pleased to see so many guests on the dance floor through the night.
Kelly-Anne Charles (Wedding) – January 2016It went amazing and was probably one of the best nights! Everyone loved him and his songs, he did a really awesome job and a couple people may hire him for their parties in the near future!
Jessica Wallace (Private Function) – February 2016We just wanted to let you know how pleased we were with James Wilson at our reception on the 6th March.
He did an amazing job and we would highly recommend him to others.
Everything went wonderfully! Mum had a fantastic party & James was the star of the show!
People were up there dancing, enjoying the night & they were talking about & commenting on how amazing he was all night. I have already forwarded his details on to a few attendees who are interested in booking him for their events! Big thanks to James for another fab gig!
James was incredible - I had so many compliments about his music and so many people asking me who he was so they could book him for their club/personal events. He was a great fit for the evening and even managed to have a lot of people up and dancing at the end of the night too!
Ella Mazza (Corporate Event) – May 2016Once again James was brilliant, never missed a beat with the crowd and over all a great night for the village. I think FMG were delighted with our event on a whole and James’s contribution with the music.
David Duignan (Mine Site) – August 2016James was absolutely fantastic! He had everyone raving about him. He was also extremely polite and professional. True gentleman the way he conducted everything. So glad I had him there. Many thanks. Will certainly rebook for another event. Will find an excuse to do so!
Erin Maguire (Wedding) – August 2016James was absolutely fantastic and he certainly created a fantastic vibe with his great mix of music to suit our diverse crowd. We received some great feedback and what a great act he is when you as coordinator can just get on with other things and he arrives on time, sets up and starts playing when the crowd arrives, no need to interrupt and say it's too loud or can you play this or that's enough of that. Just perfect! Thank you James I hope you get some more gigs out of this and we will certainly recommend you.
Melissa Wilson (Corporate Function) – September 2016 I have sent an email to James as well but he was just amazing! Absolutely everyone at the party where blown away by his performance playing a set of songs that had us all dancing and singing along. I would not hesitate in recommending him to anyone as he is a great entertainer. Interacted really well with the group so everyone was really relaxed just like he was playing for his mates. I will certainly book him again if the opportunity arises and a quick thank you to yourself and the team also as the whole process has been very simple and stress free.
I am more than happy to offer my name to any 5 star review of the performance provided by James if you want one.
James was amazing! Everyone had good things to say about him and they would like him to come back at a later date.
Shelley Heelan (Community Event) – October 2016The wedding went really really well, we had an amazing time and James was just superb. His live sets were brilliant including the few songs he learnt for us and his DJ’ing kept the dance floor packed all night long. We could not be happier with him and many of the guests have been commenting on how good he was. Very very happy!

Hi Jimmy, just wanted to say a huge thank you for playing at our wedding. You went above and beyond - setting up early & staying late and we really appreciated it. All your music choices were spot on.
Everyone raved about you, and the owner of the winery even came up to congratulate us on choosing you. He said that in his opinion you are the best musician they have played there... Thank you for making our wedding so special. :)
James is a legend. 10 out of 10 – everyone loved him.
